President's Visit and recital at the Royal Albert Hall
HRH Prince of Wales visited the Royal College of Music on March 12th for what is known as the President's Visit. This is the yearly occasion on which His Royal Higness confers honors and sees the work of the school first hand. Aristel was one of the few students selected to perform as part of this year's Visit in a duet with marimbist Hyun-gi Lee. They played Deciso by Astor Piazzolla.
From past to future, on 14th June Aristel will be giving a recital at the iconic Royal Albert Hall. He will perform a combination of baroque music with the Cello Suite in C Major by J.S.Bach, contemporary marimba music, and his very own composition titled 'Four Quartets'. Tickets are on sale here

Marimba at the Royal College of Physicians
On January 29th Aristel and his marimba travelled to the Royal College of Physicians for the opening of a fascinating architectural exhibition entitled 'Lasdun Late' which explored particularly the works and style's of Sir Denys Lasdun. Since the RCP building was envisaged and completed in the 60s Aristel performed an exlusively 60s jazz repertoire to accompay the evening. This event certainly possesed all the edginess and the cool of the era.
Marimba Masters at RCM
Aristel recently auditioned for a place at the Royal College of Music and was accepted as a Masters student for the upcoming academic year starting in September 2014. He will study with a distinguished Prof. Daniella Ganeva in a specialized marimba Masters of Performance programme. RCM is one of the few conservatoires in the world to offer an advanced marimba course at such a high level.
